Board updates on sustainability plan, consultant to host public engagement sessions

City staff updated the Oshkosh City Sustainability Advisory Board on the status of the citywide sustainability plan and related energy planning at the May 5 meeting and said public engagement sessions with the consultant are being scheduled.
Hannah (staff member) said the consultant is moving toward drafting chapters and wants to hold multiple in‑person engagement sessions in one day near the end of the month, likely with morning, afternoon and evening time slots to broaden participation. The sessions will be publicly noticed and staff expect to invite board members and other advisory bodies to attend.
On the comprehensive energy plan, staff reported the consultant is collecting additional data, currently focused more on wastewater and city facilities after earlier work with the utility on energy use. No dates were finalized; Hannah said the city hopes to publish meeting times by the end of the week or early the following week.
Board members asked that outreach be widely noticed to the public and that SAB members be informed of any sessions specifically planned for advisory groups. Staff said they would coordinate notices and confirm whether a session would be dedicated to SAB input.
