Northern Lebanon SD to consider district funding for McGrath harassment‑investigation training after IU13 grant ends

Northern Lebanon School District administrators told the May 6 committee that IU 13 grant funding that had covered McGrath harassment and investigatory training had been removed and the district must choose whether to fund continued training.
Doctor Messinger said the district negotiated the first year at half price but that ongoing training would cost $7,000 annually. “We would like to continue that. And I believe that money is worth it,” Doctor Messinger said, describing the program as strengthening investigatory procedures, documentation and professional development for harassment, discrimination and bullying investigations.
Administrators said the $7,000 annual cost has already been reflected in the draft budget prepared by the business office; the committee did not vote on funding at this meeting but heard that the expense will be part of next week’s budget vote unless the board directs otherwise.
No public comment was recorded. Administrators said they would continue to bring budgeted items forward and that they will provide more information if the board requests it before the public vote.
