The Seward City Council approved change order number 3 with Samsung Construction for the Seward Wellness Center project. City staff said the change order documents a series of items, most notably additional concrete work at Wortland Boulevard and Waverly Road, and that the net effect does not change the overall contract price because of allowances already built into the project.
"This is our third change order. We kind of piled up items, and there's a list of them included in your packet," Greg said. He identified additional concrete work at Wortland Boulevard and Waverly Road as among the more significant items. He added, "We have a huge significant savings on this project in allowance built into the project. So technically this is a 0 sum change order. It doesn't change the price of the project at all."
Council entertained a motion and second to approve the change order; the motion passed. No specific dollar amounts for the individual changes or the overall contract were specified in the meeting excerpt available in the transcript.
