The Seward City Council approved a resolution establishing a staged sale of retired street-name signs, setting an initial price of $20 and lowering prices on specified dates until all items are sold.
Greg, a city staff member, outlined the plan: signs will be offered starting at $20 for the most desirable items; on May 17 the price will drop to $10, and on May 24 it will drop to $5. Interested buyers can stop at the municipal office and work with Sarah to select and pay for signs; staff will mark which signs are sold.
The resolution (introduced as resolution number 2025-8) was moved and adopted during the meeting. Greg said the staged pricing was intended to manage demand and reduce repeated inquiries from the public about where to obtain the surplus signs.
