Staff member, budget presenter for the Town of Fuquay Varina, said projects scheduled this fiscal year include intersection improvements at Bass Lake, Sunset Lake and Hilltop; Needmore; Old Honeycutt and Highway 55; Old Honeycutt and Kennebec Road; and the phase 2 widening of Sunset Lake Road.
The presentation said the projects will increase capacity by adding lanes, upgrading traffic signals and including pedestrian accommodations. The presenter said these investments are part of the town's broader infrastructure stewardship covering sidewalks, streets, stormwater and greenways.
The presentation positioned the transportation work as a key element of keeping Fuquay Varina moving efficiently and consistent with the budget's transportation infrastructure priority.
