The Town of Fuquay Varina presented its proposed fiscal year 2026 budget, and the town said there will be no property tax increase for fiscal year 2026.
Staff member, budget presenter for the Town of Fuquay Varina, said the budget is built on seven core priorities: transportation infrastructure, utilities infrastructure, thoughtful planning, public safety investments, quality-of-life amenities, economic development and downtown revitalization.
The presenter said the town developed the budget assuming modest growth in property and sales tax revenues and noted that current economic conditions have increased the costs of labor and materials needed to deliver projects and services. The budget aims to balance sustaining essential services and making multiyear investments while keeping the tax rate flat.
The budget document, the presenter said, also follows an existing rate stabilization plan and continues to rely on system development fees to allocate utility infrastructure costs between existing users and new development. The presenter noted a planned 15% water and sewer rate increase in the fiscal 2026 budget.
The town encourages residents to review budget materials and public information at the posted budget page.
