Council hears request to advertise rezoning for 401 and 409 Simmons Street

A staff presenter said the subject parcels are undeveloped and sit just on the other side of the Second Street bridge near Hooper Avenue. The parcels abut residential properties, offices and light industrial uses. The presenter said the planning commission reviewed the application and sent a positive recommendation, 9–0, for the rezoning.
The council did not take final action beyond the request to advertise; advertising is the required step to schedule public hearings and public notice for future rezoning consideration.
