Design Review Board approves three demolition permits in rural overlay

The Design Review Board approved three demolition requests for properties in the rural Milton overlay: 140 Ranchette Road, 15245 Birmingham Highway and 13890 Cowork Road. Staff recommended approval in each case and recommended standard conditions for demolition activity.
For 140 Ranchette Road the applicant (Jennifer Wilson) requested demolition of the main house, pool, shed and two outbuildings on a 2.98‑acre AG1 property. For 15245 Birmingham Highway the applicant sought demolition of the primary residence, carport, gravel drives and patios on a 4.33‑acre AG1 parcel; staff noted the lot would be subdivided to two 2.194‑acre lots if approved. For 13890 Cowork Road the applicant requested removal of a primary residence, barn and driveways on a 1.46‑acre AG1 parcel while retaining a metal building at the rear.
Staff presentations for each site noted the properties are not listed in the Georgia Historic Resources Survey or Milton’s historic survey list and recommended standard permit conditions: complete a demo permit application, show tree‑protection and silt fence, cap any unused water well and/or septic system properly, and permanently stabilize and grass any exposed or disturbed soil.
None of the items attracted public comment and the board approved each demolition unanimously after a brief question or two for staff. The record shows a motion, a second and unanimous aye votes on each item. The board’s approvals allow applicants to complete city demolition permits and proceed to demolition under the stated conditions.
