Council awards 2025 sidewalk replacement contract to Strayer Concrete for $26,500

Shaw told council the program list is nearly full for the year and that Strayer Concrete, while new to the city program, has been recommended by residents and has performed well recently.
Councilmember Richardson introduced the ordinance and moved for passage; council voted aye to approve the appropriation and award. The contract will cover sidewalk repairs identified by staff within the scope described; work will be scheduled and funded from the city appropriation adopted with the ordinance.
Details: Shaw said the program fills as the year proceeds and each project's cost is estimated based on past unit costs; the $26,500 figure was the low bid submitted by Strayer Concrete. The city will continue to maintain outreach to property owners about homeowner responsibilities for non-city-caused sidewalk defects.
