Monongalia County reappoints two members to development authority; vacancies persist

The Monongalia County Commission on May 7 approved the reappointment of Ron Justice and Mike McNulty to the Monongalia County Development Authority, extending their terms three years to May 7, 2028.
County staff said the development authority provided a letter asking for the reappointments. Commissioners approved the renewals after confirming the terms are three years from the date of renewal.
Commissioners also noted several other seats on the development authority are vacant. McClure said the county has been advertising for members for about a year and that the authority will forward documentation so the commission can publicly indicate how additional expired terms will be handled. The commission took no further action on those vacancies at the meeting.
The reappointments were approved without recorded roll-call votes in the meeting record; commissioners voiced assent during the motion and second.
