Port Washington council votes to enter closed session for employee personnel matters under Wis. Stat. a7 19.85(1)(c)

After the public portion of the May 6 meeting concluded, the City of Port Washington Common Council voted to convene in closed session under Wisconsin law to discuss employee personnel matters.
"I'm gonna ask for a motion to convene in a closed session per Wisconsin state statute 19.85, section 1(c), for the purpose of considering employment, promotion, compensation, and other terms and conditions of employment or performance evaluation data of any public employee over which the governmental body has jurisdiction or exercises responsibility," Mayor Ted Neitzke said, quoting the statutory reason for closed session. A motion and second were made and the council took a ward-by-ward voice vote: Ward 1 Aye; Ward 2 Aye; Ward 3 Aye; Ward 4 Aye; Ward 5 Aye; Ward 6 Aye; Ward 7 Aye. The mayor then declared, "We are in closed session."
The council directed members to reconvene downstairs at five minutes after seven. No further details of the personnel matter were disclosed in open session.
