Public Works Director Bill Frisbie said the BJSO requests a code waiver that would allow the nonprofit to accept donations in the park to offset roughly $5,000 in annual concert costs. The concert is free to attendees and the donations would be used to help ensure the event continues, Frisbie said.
Council took the item as a first reading and voted to lay the ordinance over for a second reading. Staff said the matter will return with the standard process for final ordinance adoption and any required conditions for park vending and donations.
