Board approves proposed OCSBA bylaw and resolution amendments for member vote
Summary
The board voted to approve proposed amendments to the Oakland County School Boards Association (OCSBA) bylaws and resolutions and will cast the district’s membership votes before the June 6 deadline.
The Farmington Public School District Board voted May 6 to approve proposed amendments to the Oakland County School Boards Association (OCSBA) bylaws and to approve proposed OCSBA resolutions.
Board member Miss Heinrich moved the motions to approve the proposed amendments to both the bylaws and the resolutions; Mister Walker seconded one of the motions. District leaders told trustees the bylaws packet contains an “at a glance” summary and a redline showing detailed changes and that much of the work was grammatical corrections, removal of duplications and alignment to common practice.
The bylaws change requires a member-district vote within 40 calendar days; the board noted the district’s voting window closes June 6 and therefore placed the items on the agenda. Trustees recorded roll-call votes in favor of both the bylaws and resolutions amendments.
No substantive policy shifts were reported by staff; the board encouraged members to review the full packet before the district’s formal vote.
