City updates: West Main project on track; spring cleanup, mosquito fogging and Memorial Day plans announced

On West Main, Interim Service Director Sean said crews completed the 12-week line and were working on laterals and caps; he reported a few change orders (including relocating a fire hydrant) and said the contractor rented a second boring machine ("mole") that may save time. "We're looking at potentially some time savings and being very cognizant of the good gentleman at the Heinz Club on track to be done by the June," Sean said.
Staff announced spring cleanup this week with instructions to put spring-cleanup items out with regular trash; curbside brush pickup is scheduled for the week of May 20. Mosquito fogging was scheduled for this week and the week of May 21, weather permitting. The mayor and council also announced a Memorial Day bridge dedication on Monday, May 26 at 2 p.m. and said the Veterans Memorial water feature has been serviced and is operating.
