South Burlington, Vt. — The South Burlington Development Review Board closed the public hearing on May 6 for an amendment to Rice Memorial High School’s previously approved 126,875-square-foot educational facility after city staff and the Department of Public Works resolved remaining stormwater questions.
The amendment, filed by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Burlington, would add four tennis courts, a storage shed for equipment, a combination of pervious and impervious walkways, 18-foot-tall bleachers and a 25-foot-tall accessory structure to house concessions, bathrooms and a press box at 99 Procter Avenue. The application is listed as site plan SB2506 and conditional use CU2501.
Staff told the board that the applicant had satisfied all outstanding staff comments except two stormwater items; those final stormwater comments were resolved after the applicant coordinated with city staff and DPW. “We have the thumbs up from DPW on the provided stormwater plans, so that is no longer an issue,” Marty Gilles, South Burlington planning and zoning, told the board.
Board Chair Dawn Filibert asked whether any members had further questions. With none, the board voted to close the hearing; John Muscatelli moved to close and Jody Lesko seconded. The motion carried and the board closed the public hearing on the amendment.
