The Greenwood Parks and Recreation Board on May 6, 2025 approved independent-contractor agreements to continue diving lessons with Paul Burrows and to engage Brian Richardson to provide softball and baseball camps at Sports Park and the Fieldhouse during 2025.
Staff said the agreement with Paul Burrows is a renewal—Burrows has provided diving instruction for several years—and that this year’s programming will include use of the high dive and premium diving sessions at Freedom Springs. The agreement with Brian Richardson will let the department run multiple softball and baseball performance camps using Sports Park and the Fieldhouse to “monetize the fields,” staff said.
Both agreements were presented as routine program contracts to diversify seasonal programming. Board members asked clarifying questions about provider experience and logistics. Motions to approve both independent-contractor agreements carried without recorded opposition.
Each contractor agreement will be administered by parks staff and is subject to final contract execution and any required insurance or permit requirements listed in the standard city contract review process.
