The Wareham School Committee voted May 1 to hire the Massachusetts Association of School Committees (MASC) to conduct superintendent-search consulting for an upcoming leadership transition.
Committee members reviewed proposals from three vendors and heard presentations from at least two firms. Members said MASC’s relationship with district leadership and the organization’s services made it the preferred consultant. The motion to select MASC passed by voice vote with unanimous committee support.
Committee members said they expect MASC to support candidate recruitment, screening and search logistics and to work with a committee-appointed search team. The committee directed staff to notify the selected vendor and to begin planning the timeline for a fall search process and initial community engagement; details on contract length, fees and deliverables will be discussed with MASC and returned to the committee for approval as needed.
