Alpharetta awards $382,359.89 dredging contract at North Park pond; low bidder to complete in 120 days

Alpharetta City Council unanimously approved a contract award to the low bidder, identified in staff presentation as ICANN, for dredging and clearing at the North Park pond and four-bay detention area in an amount of $382,359.89.
Public works staff said state requirements require spoils to be dried and hauled to an approved disposal location; the two lowest bidders had established drying locations and the staff recommended award to the low bidder, who proposed a 120-day completion timeline. “We discovered they have a place to dry out all their... the spoils. So that saves a lot of money,” Director Sacevich said.
Two proposals were disqualified during procurement for not following process. Councilman Dorito moved to award ITB25-011 to ICANN (as presented by staff); Mayor Pro Tem Markel seconded, and the motion passed unanimously.
Staff confirmed the project is part of a larger dredging need identified previously for North Park; they said the bid came in below earlier estimates.
