Alpharetta approves medical response unit agreement with American Medical Response

The Alpharetta City Council voted unanimously to approve a vehicle-use agreement to provide a medical response unit through EMS Ventures, Inc., doing business as American Medical Response, with authorization for the mayor to sign the necessary documents.
City staff said the agreement follows an existing service-level agreement for emergency services in North Fulton. “This agreement identifies the one medical response unit that we would be receiving under this agreement, which would be staffed by fire services and maintained by the city,” City staff said. Director Robinson was available to answer technical questions; staff recommended approval.
There was no public comment on the contract. Councilman Will moved to approve the vehicle-use agreement; Councilman Hipes seconded the motion, and the council voted unanimously to approve it.
Staff described the vehicle as part of the city’s ongoing emergency services arrangements with neighboring jurisdictions and private vendors; the agreement delegates staffing to Alpharetta fire personnel and vehicle maintenance to the city.
