The Alpharetta City Council on Monday unanimously approved a resolution authorizing the transmittal of the fiscal year 2024 Capital Improvement Element (CIE) and annual report to the Atlanta Regional Commission and the Georgia Department of Community Affairs.

City staff said the action fulfills requirements of the Georgia Planning Act for local governments using impact fees to provide annual updates to their capital improvement element in accordance with the state's minimum planning standards and procedures. “We are seeking your authorization to transmit the fiscal year 2024 capital improvement element and annual report to the Atlanta Regional Commission and the Georgia Department of Community Affairs,” Director Doyle told the council.

No members of the public spoke for or against the item during the hearing. Councilman Dorito moved to adopt the resolution; Councilman Brady seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.

The transmittal begins the state and regional review process; staff did not describe any immediate budgetary or project changes tied to the transmittal vote. The council indicated no further discussion and closed the public hearing after the motion passed.
