Pickens County commissioners approved budget adjustments to close fiscal year 2024 after finance staff completed audit entries and prepared the annual report draft.
Finance staff reported the net adjustment is about $226,000, covered by revenues received in excess of prior estimates. Staff outlined portions of the amount as follows: approximately $86,000 related to subscription recording entries, about $46,000 in general government adjustments, roughly $12,000 in judicial adjustments and about $77,000 in a line described in the transcript as “public statement.” Finance staff said these entries reflect auditor reporting requirements and internal reclassifications needed to balance year‑end accounts.
A motion to approve the budget amendment was moved, seconded and carried with no opposition recorded in the meeting transcript. Staff said the action will allow auditors to finalize the draft annual report and present the final audited report in June.
