Board welcomes new athletic director Lisa Young; two finalists named for Florence Brasser principal

The Gates Chili Board of Education welcomed Lisa Young as the district's newly approved athletic director and Superintendent Daley announced two finalists for the Florence Brasser Elementary School principal opening: Kathleen Trepanier and Laura Bauer.
"Before we get to action items, I'd like to notice that our new Athletic Director was just approved, Mrs. Lisa Young. Welcome officially to Gates Chili," the presiding officer said during the meeting. Superintendent Daley said the two principal finalists will each have a day in the district to meet students and staff; families may hear from the candidates during a virtual finalist forum scheduled for Thursday, May 15, from 5:30 to 6:40 p.m.
The finalists will participate in final interviews and public engagement opportunities; the board did not take a separate vote on the principal appointment during the reported portion of the meeting.
