Staff said the county’s existing SPLOST term is scheduled to expire in June 2026, and the proposed referendum would enable voters to consider adopting a new five‑year term to succeed the expiring tax.
A motion to approve the resolution was moved, seconded and carried with no opposition recorded in the meeting transcript. The motion authorizes the chairman to proceed with notices and documents needed to begin the referendum process.
