Walton County approves companion replats for Deerwood Drive lots 1240 and 1241

Walton County commissioners on an unspecified morning approved companion replats for Lot 1240 and Lot 1241 in the Deerwood Drive Phase 4 subdivision, a step county staff said cleans up internal easements and does not change lot ownership or external impacts.
Kelly Schultz, planning staff, told the commission the replat of Lot 1240 (project PIA24000046) covers 0.13 acres and is consistent with a previously approved development order (LTM240000081). She said the replats remove existing easements that served only the two adjacent lots and that there is "no external impact to removing these easements." The parcels are in District 4, are zoned Coastal Center and have a future land‑use designation of mixed use, Schultz said.
Staff entered the report into the record, the commission moved and seconded approval, and commissioners voted in favor; there was no public comment recorded. The second replat, for Lot 1241, was described by staff as an adjacent, similar request intended to remove easements that were established for the benefit of the two irregularly shaped lots.
The approvals were procedural and limited to the plat recordation and easement removal; no other changes to zoning or development entitlements were announced. The staff reports and parcel identifiers were placed into the meeting record.
Looking ahead, the planning department will proceed with standard plat recording steps pending any ministerial checklist items required by county staff.
