Wayne County seeks agreement to reimburse CenturyLink for relocations on Allen Road grade-separation project in Woodhaven

Sammy Calde, director of engineering and highway engineer for Wayne County, told the Committee on Public Services that CenturyLink has facilities in the railroad right-of-way and was the first company to apply to relocate lines for the Allen Road railroad crossing and grade-separation project in the city of Woodhaven. "Part of the agreement is we have to pay them, you know, to do the relocation, and they do have a permit in hand," Calde said.

Calde said the county is hopeful CenturyLink can begin relocation work once the reimbursement agreement is approved so the county's railroad crossing and grade-separation construction can proceed. A resident from the room thanked staff and noted community concern along the Downriver corridor and appreciation that the county was being proactive.
