Wayne County committee hears update on emergency steel repairs to Grosse Ile Parkway bridge; work began May 1

Palamara said the toll bridge was purchased by the township and "arguably, they could waive the tolls if they wanted to," but added she did not believe the township would suspend tolls because it used bond revenue to buy the bridge.
Commissioner Palamara asked whether the contractor had encountered unexpected conditions that could extend the schedule; Shea replied, "So far that I know of, everything is going, pretty good right now." County staff did not provide a detailed inspection report in the hearing.
