During public comment at the Kirksville City Council meeting, Maggie Snyder told the council she is seeing houses in her neighborhood boarded up and torn apart and urged faster action from city government.
“My name is Maggie Snyder, and we need you something. It's about the homes. They won't break in homes and tear the houses up and they gotta tear it down,” she said, speaking from the podium. Snyder added she is concerned about drug dealing near the properties and described recent evictions affecting family members.
Council did not take immediate action during the meeting on the issues Snyder raised. The comment was recorded as part of the city’s five-minute public-comment allotment for items not on the agenda.
