Commissioners praised the center’s role in arts education and in serving municipal partners. Senator Steve Geller and Commissioner Christian Rich each spoke about the center’s long history of community programming. The board voted 8‑0 to place items 36 and 37 — the related consent agenda items covering the agreement — on the consent agenda and to approve them.
Outcome: The commission approved the tri‑party agreement by unanimous vote. The agreement supports capital infrastructure and preserves the Broward Center’s role in education and community outreach, county staff said.
