The Board of Supervisors approved a renewed intergovernmental agreement with the City of Flagstaff on May 6 to continue joint management and cost‑sharing of the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council (CJCC) director position.
County staff said the IGA preserves an existing arrangement in which the CJCC director is a county employee whose salary and operating expenses are partially paid by the City of Flagstaff. Diana Calandros, the CJCC director, addressed the board and said she is “pleased” to continue in the role and emphasized CJCC efforts to coordinate justice partners, reduce barriers to permanent housing and convene cross‑agency work on treatment courts and diversion.
Supervisors said the CJCC has been central to the county’s reentry and recovery‑court programs and praised the partnership with the city. The board approved the IGA unanimously and directed staff to continue coordination on CJCC initiatives, including an upcoming warrant‑resolution event tied to housing access.
