Wooster City Council on Monday approved Resolution 2025‑38 to advertise and enter into a contract for reconstruction of a portion of Silver Road and construction of a shared‑use path on Venture Boulevard.
Administration said the project covers Silver Road between Venture Boulevard and Mechanicsburg Road and a shared‑use path along Venture Boulevard from Clear Creek Park to Silver Road. The project was estimated to cost about $1,175,000. Administration advised council that $250,000 of funding for the project will come from an ODOT Jobs and Commerce grant already secured; the remainder will be paid from TIF dollars tied to local development.
Council voted to adopt the resolution to begin the bidding process so engineering staff have time to obtain and review bids. Council members expressed mild disappointment that illustrative color renderings were not available at the meeting but proceeded with the vote.
