Medford committee recommends Left Field as owner's project manager for high school feasibility process

The Medford School Committee received an update on the MSBA feasibility process on May 5 and learned the OPM (owner's project manager) selection subcommittee has unanimously recommended Left Field to serve as the district’s OPM for the high school feasibility study.
Member Graham, who delivered the update, described a procurement process that included an RFS, a high school walkthrough with 15–20 firms, ten proposals received and interviews with three finalists. “The ultimate winner of that evaluation process was unanimous...Their name is Left Field,” Graham said.
Nut graf: Selecting an OPM is a required step before the district can hire a designer (architect) and begin the feasibility study that will inform planning for the high school. The committee will submit documentation of the OPM selection to the MSBA; MSBA approval of the OPM selection is expected in early June and would allow the district to execute the OPM contract and move quickly to select a designer.
Committee members asked about community engagement and the project timeline. Graham said the district intends to use the summer to complete administrative tasks and onboarding, with early‑fall community engagement led by the designer and the OPM once the designer is appointed.
Ending: The building committee will meet to introduce Left Field to the public and the committee. The district will submit its recommendation and supporting documentation to the MSBA by the posted deadline to seek approval at the MSBA OPM selection panel in early June.
