Franklin City and consultant USI Consultants agreed to a mutual termination of the professional services agreement for the city's comprehensive plan update at the Board of Public Works and Safety meeting on May 5.
Planning Director Joanna Timmick told the board USI had notified city staff that the senior planner assigned to the project, Corey Daley, resigned effective May 1. Timmick said Daley's prior work on the city's 2013 update and institutional knowledge were reasons the personnel change materially affected performance expectations. USI offered either a subcontractor to complete the update or a mutual termination; the city accepted termination.
Timmick said staff and the mayor have a replacement consultant in mind and expect to present a new contract for board consideration at the next Board of Works meeting.
The board approved the mutual termination by voice vote.
