License Commission approves Look Park short-term liquor licenses for two events

The Northampton License Commission on April 20 unanimously approved two short-term wine-and-malt liquor licenses for Frank Newhall Look Memorial Park Inc., doing business as Look Park, for events on May 31 and June 4.
Mark Penny, representing Look Park, described the May 31 "Magic for Maddie" fundraiser to be held in the train parking lot and said the space is well suited for food trucks and a craft beer and wine bar with a contained alcohol boundary. Penny said the June 4 concert at the Sanctuary at Willow Lake would be a smaller, ticketed evening performance and that the park would create a contained entry point and use snow fencing to maintain the alcohol boundary.
Commissioners asked about containment and safety; Penny said the park would work with the event presenter to position the bar near the water and snow-fence the perimeter so entry could be controlled. After questions, a motion to approve the license applications carried with unanimous roll call votes by the commissioners.
Licensing staff and the commission noted that conditions to control access and verify age at ticketed points of entry are expected for the Sanctuary event and that the usual license conditions will apply.
