Oklahoma County BOE approves amended manufacturers-exemption report

The Oklahoma County Board of Equalization voted May 6 to accept an amended five-year manufacturers-exemption report the assessor’s office updated on April 29.
At the hearing, Chad, the assessor’s office’s personal property assistant supervisor, told the board that an existing company had filed a late application and the assessor’s office had updated the spreadsheet to reflect the additional filing. Chad said the amended report will require a new board signature before the office forwards it to the Oklahoma Tax Commission.
A motion to accept the amended manufacturers-exemption report was moved and seconded during the meeting. Board members recorded in the record — Mister Cowen and Miss Owens — each voiced “Yes” when asked to vote; the clerk then closed the item. The board’s chair said the board will carry out required signature and transmission steps.
Because the change reflects filings already made by the manufacturer, assessor staff said the board’s role was ministerial: to review, sign and pass the amendment along for state processing. The board did not take any other substantive action at the session.
The board signed the record and closed the item; staff said they will handle routing to the state tax commission and any subsequent correspondence.
