The city manager presented a preliminary budget summary to the Casper City Council at the pre-meeting and said the summary fulfills the city's statutory obligation to deliver the document. "In your packets, you will see the layout, if you will, for the 183,600,000 that we're anticipating, spending over the next year," the city manager said.
The city manager emphasized this is an initial delivery step and contains no detailed analysis: "This stage of budget delivery does not include any analysis or any, things that we need to discuss ... This is just the very first step that we need to take in order to deliver the budget to you, which will culminate ... in the work sessions coming up toward the end of this month," he said.
Councilors asked whether the packet delivery affects the meeting agenda; the city manager confirmed the summary delivery is separate from tonight's other agenda actions. No formal vote or amendment to the budget was taken during the pre-meeting. The manager noted upcoming work sessions where councilors will review details and ask questions.
Ending: The summary was accepted as meeting the statutory requirement; councilors will review the full budget in scheduled work sessions later this month.
