Board prioritizes emergency Juliet Road culvert repair and directs $919,216 LAR allocation toward roads

Staff presented two options: use the funds to continue a previously identified pavement list or to address immediate infrastructure needs.
Tim Ingram and county engineering staff described the Round Oak (Juliet) Road box culvert as an urgent repair, estimating the work at about $100,000 if repair (rather than full replacement) is possible. The board heard there is active erosion and that delay increases the risk to adjacent property. Commissioners also discussed a deteriorating structure in the Creekside area; staff said full replacement of that bridge could cost $1.5'$2 million but that targeted repairs might reduce cost.
Commissioner Ball moved (and was seconded) to move the Juliet culvert to the top of the priority list, include the Creekside bridge repair as a priority, and then apply remaining LAR funds to the next roads on the pavement-assessment list. The motion passed on a voice vote. Commissioners directed staff to prepare the LAR grant application and to return with cost estimates and a timeline.
