Senator Mark Meek, sponsor of the bill in the Senate, told the committee the change would give veterans who ride motorcycles and mopeds the same recognition currently available for passenger vehicles. "These specialty plates are a wonderful way for all Oregonians to be able to recognize the service of veterans in our communities," he said.
