The Kankakee City Council approved a resolution authorizing the city to enter an agreement with B2B Motorsports LLC to host APBA outboard performance craft races in Kankakee Aug. 9–31, 2025.
City staff said the running cost of the contract is roughly $75,000 plus hotel-room commitments; the administration will route revenues and expenses through city accounts so sponsorships and receipts are tracked in municipal records. Staff noted sponsorships are expected to offset a portion of the expense and that the event this year may include more boats and expanded activity compared with the prior year’s event.
Alderman Marzak moved the resolution and Alderman Talley seconded; the motion passed by roll call (12 ayes, 0 nays). City staff said the contract structure mirrors last year’s arrangement and that the city will manage accounts for transparency and accounting.
