Council approves Tomball Gateway and Wayfinding ad hoc committee, names stakeholders

The Tomball City Council voted unanimously May 5 to create a Tomball Gateway and Wayfinding ad hoc committee and approved a list of stakeholder members to advise the city on signage and gateway design.
Assistant staff member Chris Lord presented the proposed membership and asked the council to approve the roster. “Those are the members of this committee that will hopefully help, guide us to our final gateway and wayfinding signs,” Chris Lord said.
The council approved the roster by motion and second; staff said the committee will meet monthly starting this month, and the group should produce suggestions by the end of the year. Members named in the meeting included Amanda Kelly, Amanda Tricky (marketing/media), Amy Mason (Chamber), Angie Johnson, Eric Berger, Katie Whistler, Kelly Violet (EDC), Larissa Roberts, Lori Ball, Melanie Sutton and Teresa Latsis (Hudson Group). The motion carried unanimously.
Why it matters: the ad hoc committee will guide design and placement of gateway and wayfinding signage, a visible public-facing project intended to direct visitors and mark Tomball’s entrances. Staff said they are coordinating meeting dates with the consultant Westwood and the committee.
The council took no additional action beyond approving the committee and its membership at the meeting.
