Several contractors submitted quotes for dozens of addresses; sample bid amounts read into the record included HVAC unit replacements ($3,696.69; $4,450.00; $5,999.00 among others), electrical upgrades ($16,500.00; $17,500.00 on particular addresses) and water-heater replacements ($1,350.00; $3,308.00). Staff told commissioners that a few properties did not receive any bids and that one contractor had attempted to submit after the deadline and was asked to hold the submission for possible next-round consideration.
Commissioners asked program staff to advertise more widely next round to encourage broader contractor participation. The board did not take immediate award action; staff will review bid completeness and funding compatibility and return with recommendations at a future meeting.
