Recreation manager reports summer camps, pool openings and Becker Tech bookings

She reported that certain camp sites and programs are already full, that an adaptive recreation camp at Dula for ages 5–18 is filling more slowly, and that Mirabelli’s Tot Town (ages 3–5) was close to capacity. Seasonal pools are scheduled to open on Memorial Day weekend.
Regarding Becker Tech, Tovar said the municipal sports unit moved into the facility earlier in the year and has restarted programming: the STEAM basics class has four sessions and about 21 participants, and the center has taken three paid rentals this year compared with none in 2024. She credited staff efforts for increasing facility use.
Tovar also highlighted active‑adult programming — day trips and social events — and an upcoming 90‑and‑up banquet at East Las Vegas community center.
