Commissioners approve change orders for Community Services Building renovations

Jonathan (county facilities staff) asked the board to approve a change order with Ainsworth Inc. for $9,365.86 to add drain lines to a water feature, install wall brackets for two condensing units and add sprinkler heads to meet code. He also requested approval of a $45,173 change order with GM McCrossan for added ceiling bulkheads, drywall and painting related to rainwater relocation after some Second Floor walls were moved.
Why it matters: county staff said the Community Services Building includes portions that are roughly 90 years old and that major renovations can reveal unexpected conditions. Commissioners noted the project is still under budget on change orders to date.
The board approved the items by voice vote. Staff said the changes followed necessary code and construction sequencing; no further action was taken at the meeting beyond the approvals.
