The chief credited Lieutenant Whelan for preparing the application that led to the award.
Separately, the board acknowledged the town recently completed a hiring process for a deputy town clerk. The town received 41 applications, narrowed the field to nine second-round interviewees and then held two final interviews before selecting a candidate. The chair publicly thanked staff, including Vanessa Hale, for assisting in the hiring process.
Both items were presented as informational and received board commendation; no formal votes were required.
