On March 20 a UTV rollover required response; on March 23 a group of five hikers became lost on Canyon Mountain and were located following searches that included deputies and the search‑and‑rescue canine team. He described use of certified tracking and canine resources and follow‑up searches the morning after the initial report.
Commissioners asked about volunteer call‑out procedures and when volunteers are summoned. Paul said volunteers are called for larger or potentially injurious incidents and that he prefers having resources on site and standing by when situations could escalate.
The commission thanked emergency services personnel for their service. No formal action accompanied the report; it was delivered as informational business to the commission.
