The committee opened the meeting by taking nominations for chair. A member moved to nominate Brian Marshall; a colleague seconded. After a voice vote, the presiding officer yielded the chair to the member chosen by the committee. The committee then took nominations for vice chair. A member nominated Mr. Coran; the nomination was seconded and approved by voice vote, and Coran was declared vice chair.
Committee members approved the minutes of the April 15 meeting without discussion and noted there were no citizen comments. The session lasted only long enough to complete routine organizational business and move to the consent agenda.
The meeting was procedural in nature: elections for internal leadership, approval of past minutes and preparation to consider a packaged set of temporary licenses later in the agenda. No policy debates, motions to study issues, or substantive public testimony occurred during the leadership election or the minutes vote.
The committee adjourned after approving the consent agenda and noting there were no items for future agendas.
