The Akron City Council Planning Committee approved a resolution confirming Gwen Pettway to the Urban Design and Historic Preservation Commission, filling the seat reserved for a representative of the Akron Realtors Association.
Staff explained the city charter reserves one seat on the urban design commission for a member of the Akron Realtors Association and that Pettway, described as a realtor and recent past president of the Akron Realtors Association, was nominated to fill a vacancy created by a resignation months earlier.
“Gwen Pettway, who is a realtor, and and has been active in that business for some years, and and and a recent past president of the, Akron realtists as well,” staff said when introducing the nomination.
There were no questions from committee members and the nomination was approved as part of the consent agenda.
The resolution was declared an emergency and will be processed according to council procedures.
