City staff updated the Pasco City Council on May 5 about two parallel efforts to develop formal boulevard standards and park design standards.
Staff said they have retained consultants (CASE for boulevards and MIG for park standards) and that the consultants are collecting existing data, visiting current parks and boulevards, and preparing draft concepts and specifications. The boulevard standards project will formalize a traditional tree-and-grass boulevard option and a second hardscape/water-conservation style; the park standards project will provide clear design specifications to help ensure equitable park development and to guide both internal projects and private development.
Staff said they will host two community input sessions for each project—one targeting park users and a second targeting the development community—and then present draft standards to council for comment. Staff estimated a target timeline of about four to six months for draft plans, noting ongoing workloads and related projects such as the Peanuts Park North design effort.
Council members thanked staff for the Cinco de Mayo event work and for early outreach; no council action was taken beyond receiving the update.
