The Monona Common Council voted Monday to release an existing public utility easement at approximately 5600 Gishaw Drive so final documents for the Topgolf development could be recorded together.
A city staff member explained the request was for one remaining utility easement associated with the Topgolf project and that recording all related documents at the same time necessitated immediate action. The staff explanation said this easement request had been considered previously in March and that four of five required easements were already recorded.
Alder Brian (last name not specified) moved to suspend the rules to take the item out of order; the motion was seconded and approved. The council then moved to approve the easement release; the mayor called the voice vote and recorded “Aye. Motion carries.”
Council minutes show the approval was conditioned upon a Public Works Committee meeting on Mesa (per a council comment), and the item will be recorded as directed by staff.
