The commissioner said the Pascal Center has not yet gone to the planning commission and described the May 22 Board of Appeals session as “the first meeting, actual legal meeting in this county.” He added that if the project “passes all those, 2 big hearings, there's not a whole lot we can do about it,” and that members of the public have a right to speak at the hearings.
The commissioner told listeners the first hearing date specifically: “the May 22 at the Board of Appeals meeting, 06:30 right here.” He also said the proposal “didn't ask to go to the planning commission,” and suggested it could come before the county commission after other reviews.
No formal vote or motion on the Pascal Center was recorded during this portion of the meeting. The commissioner framed the Board of Appeals session as the immediate opportunity for public input and directed residents to “follow-up on our website and and keep track of that.”
