Board approves consent agenda, including bids for delineators, interlocal agreements and road-material contracts

The Cowlitz County Board of Commissioners approved its consent agenda during a regular Tuesday meeting, moving forward with several procurement and interlocal actions the county said are routine parts of road and emergency services operations.

Items approved included a call for bids for a countywide delineator project scheduled for June 9, 2025; commissioners said the project will use federal safety funds and estimated the work “probably [will be] in the neighborhood of a hundred and eighty plus thousand dollars.” The board also approved an expanded interlocal agreement with the city of Castle Rock to add floodplain management administration to existing permit services and renewed a five-year interlocal agreement with Metro to provide emergency landfill access options for two Metro transfer stations when Interstate 84 is impassable.

The board approved a data-sharing agreement between Cowlitz County Emergency Medical Service District No. 1 and the Washington State Auditor to permit sharing of confidential information for an audit, described by county staff as routine audit facilitation. Contracts for road-servicing materials were awarded to Gardner Rock Inc. and LROC Industries for the period beginning May 1, 2025, through February (year not specified in the meeting record). Vouchers presented totaled $988,009.47 and 28 cents, which were included in the consent vote.

Commissioners did not debate these items at length during the meeting; the board’s motion to approve the consent agenda passed on a voice vote.
